An intertwining of Slovenian poetry and selected wines by a top winemaker from Slovenske gorice

The Tourist Board of Sveta Trojica has prepared a unique experience for all lovers of wine, poetry, and Slovenian music in the monastery’s cellar. Ditka, singer-songwriter, singer, and composer will accompany the guided wine tasting of top wines by renowned winemaker Alojzij Gaube from Slovenske gorice with her story, which is a combination of lyrics by famous Slovenian poets made into music. 

The main theme of our 5-star experience is life. Songs Nekaj v zraku (There is something in the air); Ne spreminjaj me (Don't change me); Srečanje (Encounter); Ljubi me, kot sonce sije (Love me like the sun is shining) and Ne bodi kot drugi (Don't be like the others) personify different periods of life, events, turning points that line up as life unfolds. 

Each period will be accompanied by wine; from those that are naughty, playful, and sparkling, all the way to the ones that are mature, velvety, fully aromatic.

The Sveta Trojica (literally: the Holy Trinity) lies in the heart of the Slovenske gorice hills, which are recognizable by the characteristic image of small green hills, topped by churches and chapels, and by the slopes overgrown with vines. 

The development of the place relates to the story of the three lights that began to show on the hill. In 1631, a chapel was built, later the Augustinians built a church, a monastery, and monastic cellar. During that time, the place became a popular pilgrimage centre. 

Records say that over 100,000 visitors come to Sveta Trojica annually. 

A special feature of that time was that indulgences (the Catholic act that granted full or partial remission of the punishment of sin) were applied to pilgrims who made their way to Sveta Trojica. 

Miraculous recoveries were happening. 

The place was also marked by important Slovenes: Ivan Cankar, who wrote Lepa Vida right here, Alojz Kraigher, writer and doctor, Ivo Brnčič, writer and literary critic.
